Some aggressive little cookie!

There is an ad box that keeps popping up. It's had surveys, lists of links, ads on it. It showed up last night and every time I opened my browser, there it was. SO, I cleared out my cookies and set the browser to where I have to accept or reject each cookie request.
Now I cannot believe all the sites I go to that require a cookie. My friend Sharon called and I was going to give her the address of the public school across the street! Ha! The school district wants to put a cookie on my computer? What in the world for? I understand their need if you are returning to a site and they require login, but just to find an address is over the top. JMHO of course. I'm so sure my rant won't change a thing that I'll move on ;)
So, there are a bunch of cookie requests. Some sources are obvious. Google, FB, ECU, the library. One of the others has to be the culprit. If I don't recognize the domain, then I block it. Quite a few times, right after that action, the pop up shows itself. There are several names that have ad written all over them. I've been trying to find a pattern to when those particular cookies show up. So far I haven't seen one, but I'm a researcher, so I'll keep looking!
Run your antivirus and malware programs, sounds like you might be infected. Cookies are fine, the popup is not. If you don't delete it, it is likely only a matter of time before it gets worse.
