Bibles on the BB Storm

I can't say I've been thrilled with the apps I've used or tried to use lately, but I have used the ereader successfully on the phone. Small but do-able. The WordPress app has been a complete disaster. FB is ok. Twitter has worked out much better than expected.Google - ahhh I'd be lost without it.

Olive Tree LogoMarc Cortez posted about Olive Tree today, so I went and did a BB Storm search to see how others felt about the application and the reviews were favorable.

So, if you have a storm and want to give it a shot, here is the reader download, and here is a free download for the ASV. Not one I normally use, but it will let me get a feel for how it works on the BB.

They've got quite a few other free offerings too. Some are single chapter, but many are full texts. There are other Bibles in this section. Some are sample texts, others have fewer notes, but they are there.

    I have had it for Palm, Windows Mobile and now Andriod. I like it a lot and find that it is stable, loaded with features and loaded with free apps.

    Thanks Joel. I've been impressed with their offerings.

    I've got the app loaded and the ASV is there. I had to fool with it for a bit to get it to choose the ASV over the KJV. They both showed up on the LIB screen, but ASV wouldn't "take." So, I went to LIBS: Bookshelf: Categories: ASV and then it took.

    *whew* ;)

    You can't go wrong w/Olive Tree (you CAN spend a lot of money, if you choose, but you can't go wrong). I wrote about my current fav Bible apps on my pastors blog (http://beautyofthebible.com/2010/07/19/guest-post-on-monday-morning-review-2/). If any of them have BB apps, I would recommend all of them.

Five TV Shows I Enjoy

I don't watch TV exactly, but I do have shows line up in my HULU queue, so I do watch those at my convenience. M erlin - this is a sci-fi channel show. I've been an Merlin fan since I was a kid and read The Once and Future King. Merlin and Arthur are both young men in this one. Lie to Me - I love Tim Roth's sassy character and the way he always gets the best of someone by psychoanalyzing them. Fringe - Another sci-fi show, but on ABC. It's just weird at times. Dual universes. Reminds me a bit of Sliders, but much darker and ominous. Characters have developed nicely. Always some very odd twist. FlashForward - I like this one enough I wanna buy the book to see how they compare/contrast. World changing event happens where everyone sees a glimpse of  their futures for the same time period. Changing denominations

A little over a year ago, when I left my job at the church and walked away to find a new one, I also left my church. The church, that church, the old church? For 17 years, it had been my church and then it was not. Ron and I had taught more classes than I can remember - together and apart. We worked with discipleship, new members and of course, the library. The boys spent their teenage years there and were in countless programs, went to numerous camps as campers and then as counselors. They went on mission trips and made their first international trips with this church. But the time had come to go. We had different jobs and Ron continued teaching Sunday School until the year ended.
